Adventures in Uruguay and Abroad, Making Money Overseas and Great Photography.
According to UruguayNatural a division of the Ministerio de Turismo y Deporte in Uruguay, the thermal waters of the spa towns come from the Guarani Aquifer, one of the most important groundwater reservoirs in the world. Located beneath the surface of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. In 1946, instead of discovering black gold while digging for oil, a spring of hot water was discovered.
The thermal waters are generally between 38C and 46C. The thermal waters have a high content of mineral salts, making the water suitable to drink as mineral water.
Spa towns are located in the northwest part of Uruguay along the Rio Uruguay. Each spring has its own feel and surrounding environment. Great for a vacation destination and family fun.
